572 Humboldt Legion Army Cadets
Ages 12 - 19
Every Wednesday evening you will find a group of youth and officers at the legion.
Our program runs throughout the school year from September until June following all school holidays. We have just over 30 cadets registered for the 2025 – 2026 year. This number fluctuates as cadets can start as soon as they turn 12 years old and must leave once they turn 19.
Our program is completely free and is funded by the Department Of National Defense and the 572 Support Committee. The support committee is made up of cadet parents and other interested community members who fundraise to help fund the experiences for the cadets. The cadet program is full of opportunities to gain so many life skills and have some amazing experiences.
Facilities, offices and the gun range for cadets are supplied by the Humboldt Legion.
Our Cadet Program...
aims to help empower the youth of Canada with leadership, respect, & being active in the community. The cadets practice drill every night as well as take part in lessons. The lessons which are taught by the senior cadets, cover various topics including:
- Proper Uniform Care
- Compass & Map Skills
- Survival Skills
- Community Participation
- Markmanship & Much More!
Throughout the year, the cadets are able to participate in various field training exercises, sport days, and community events. Cadets also have the opportunity to participate in summer training programs across the country.
Remembrance Day
An important part of the program is honouring our veterans. Our Cadets take part in lessons about Vimy Ridge and help
place flags on veterans graves during decoration Sunday.
Cadets help with the Poppy Campaign by spending a day selling poppies at businesses throughout the city of Humboldt. They also participate in the Remembrance Day Service both at the church and the cenotaph.
